I would suggest both Divx and Sound Forge. I have used both and both are easy and great softwares. But I suppose, its not free.

I'm using sound forge too, but i'm still newbie and need to learn more.

I used to use windows media player for listening to the music, now I find it takes lots of memory though... Couple of days ago I downloaded winamp, installed into D disk instead of C, now using it for music, little bit better now...

i am using divx convertor.......it is the best software and it is easy to use.....
