I also think limewire is a software, instead of web site, hehe... And in addition there is a web site related with this software, where we can download limewire into own pcs, through we can upload and download files online...

I use to use it, but had to many problems with it recently so I try to stay away from that site now. Many people still use it though.

I'm using LimeWire Pro.
Yes, there are a lot of viruses around there, but not more than on a regular filesharing website - It's just about knowing what to download and what not to download.
Personally i believe that µtorrent & LimeWire Pro is a good mix.

Hi Killer1993, I am also using Limewire, and I do hear about the torrent, but don't know they've mixed up together, I just open Limewire, search for the file I want, then download it, very simple, now you mentioned it, I remember, someone did give me some torrent to download the file through Limewire, but I failed, haha...

Well, LimeWire's torrent downloader is pretty lame as there's a limit to your download speed, your peer & seed connections, and the likes.
Therefore i use µTorrent for the purpose instead, as it's much more "no-limit" like.
In advance i've scored an invitation to the oh' so' famous Demonoid, which really disappointed me as they are almost never updating their members' accounts.
So now i'm on a danish site at which you also need invitation.
Really, µTorrent kicks butt :P

Hi Killer1993, frankly I don't know what you are talking about... I don't know how to use utorrent, haven't heard about the invitation either... Why you are in need of invitation? What is it used for? Become a member? I joined limewire already, didn't need any invitation for registration though...

Oh, seems like you lost the point ;)
To download torrents from LimeWire for example, you first of all need the torrent.
I s'pose you get that from ThePirateBay? Sadly, their uploads are very slow.
So you can get to these private trackers which have an upload speed of around 1mb/sec, but because they don't want a lot of noobs joining, and don't want their servers stuffed with ghost seeders (people who download a game, limit their upload speed to 1kb/sec and make themselves look like uploading), you need to be invited by someone who is already a member of the private tracker to get in.
Limewire is nothing but an application used to download these torrents, though i recommend using µTorrent for that purpose as it's much better.
So, it's not the applications which need an invitation - It's the places where you download the torrents from.
Also, on these websites you have a ratio to keep.
When done downloading a torrent, your computer will automatically start uploading this torrent to other users who want it.
This means that if you downloaded a 3GB movie, you have to upload 3GB of the same movie again, unless you want to get banned.
That's how private trackers work - Much better, for everyone
Especially because i upload between 1 and 5MB/sec, and download with the same speed.

Hi Killer1993, thanks for the detailed explanation, so clear, now I understand it, hehe... However, if I download some movie, I have to uplaod it back to internet, it'll take my band speed, also computer space, right? I usually keep many programs open in the PC, so maybe my computer will be running like tortoise, haha.....
