It seems i can't find the answer of this question on Google.
SO, anyone know how to detect if some web page contain virus or not. You know that some bad web page, when opened, will install virus or spyware to our computer. I just know one way to detect it, it's by search web page address on google. If google show warning about that web page, then i won't open it. But it's very tiring to search on google everytime i want to open a web page. Please tell me if you have any good idea. thanks |

You mean the exploited web pages.. Well I'd recommend you to install Kaspersky Internet Security, it's the best one you can find, I've been using it for a while and it's the great one!

From experience, I think these malicious coders have the Internet Explorer to be their favorite target. So far, I haven't experienced an attack since I've switched to firefox.
But, in that Yahoo! "warning" tag, it will always take a lot of victims first before Yahoo! actually tags it. Here's my advice, stay away from angelfire, free hosted sites, it's bombarded with tons of ads, stay away from warez site, and of course, sites with pornographic content. |

Who woudn't be attracted by a $3000++ software that comes for free?
I bet that you will be attracted by free Photoshop cracks that really work, but unknowingly at the exchange of malicious malware creeping in your system. |

Yes, it's very possible, since, you are mostlikely to be downloading a pre-installed version that comes in a zip, and chances are people won't actually bother to look closely into the folders of PS, I know that they have a folder containing all the crap they need (scripts, batch files, DAT files, Application Extensions (.dll),name it..) And these malicious people can easily put a .bat or a .vbs file in it and it will still go unnoticed, because frankly, even I wouldn't bother to open that folder full of programming crap.
Now you see my point of why you shouldn't download warez. And another thing, I've noticed, when I attempted a test of these warez, when it's not the whole software, it's usually a zipped file of Notes which can be actually a virus itself, take the test virus signature eicar.com, I opened it through notepad and saved it in .txt form and the antivirus still caught it. That could be the same with the cracks zip. And remember, people have ways to conceal malware. Take PS as an example, you can actually fake a file by changing it's Icon into a folder or an application extension icon. Let's say I made a virus that will do crap on your PC and I changed the icon into a folder and I named it Application Extension Plug-ins, (it's repetitive, lol, extension then a plug-in??) would you suspect that at first glance? |
