it is not good if google ban your site. but what can we do to avoid that when sponsoring a theme??

Sponsoring Themes is good but you have to be careful , Google still see's them as Paid links , especially when they are put in the footer of the theme's . IMO you have to do it in moderation.

Of course if the majority of your traffic is coming from the theme sponsorships and you dont care about google serps then its a better option

What is sponsoring theme? Do you mean the free template which we get online? Usually they have some link or button leading to the site, in the blog, no way to avoid, google even doesn't accept this? Hmm seems google is bit strict, isn't it? Or I've understood wrongly?

Not much you can do apart from be careful , dont go mad and buy loads and loads of sponsorships . You have to remember to only buy themes that could potentially be used as a theme in your niche.

If you buy and theme that is about dogs and is used as a dog niche , then your site is about apples the it will be unrelated and unnatural , google doesnt like unnatural linking.

Also remember to keep your anchor text as your site name , do not try and gain an advantage in serps with keyword anchors , the only use for sponsoring a theme really is the potential Page rank gain. Which if your Chasing higher page rank its a little pointless as it means nothing unless you are selling links.

There are lots of things to consider when getting links to your site, Your better off getting a high quality backlink rather than 1000 poor ones

The free template that I got online, is about Hawaii I think, and I use it for Chinese food recipe blog, is that ok? How to change the theme? If I change the pic of Hawaii into Chinese food, will it be better? Will the theme also change to Chinese food?

From my point of view, people are not much aware about Hawai Food. Specially in US. But people from all over the world are fond of Chinese Food. All of them knows that Noodles is originated from China. So, I gues, using a Chinese food template shall look more appeling.

Hmm, don't know where to get, actually I just pay attention to the background and over all looking etc., for the template, don't care about the theme itself so much though, now I got to know having a relevant theme is also an important point...

sometimes you can get any suitable template and just change the background picture. then your template will be totally chinese recipe template

no, i do not mean that google spider crawls theme of the blog or site according to the background picture. it just a suggestion for you to get a more suitable theme for your blog.

Do you mean Google even recognizes baground pictures? I didn't knew if Google does that. But, how? I mean Google spiders only hover over content and keywords? How can they hover over background pictures?
